BBC Look East had the Archbishop of Canterbury’s visit to Norwich as its top story on tonight’s programme. With footage from the St John the Baptist RC Cathedral, Norwich Synagogue, YMCA Norfolk, St Stephen’s Cafe, Norwich Market, The Forum and Norwich University of Arts and Norwich Anglican Cathedral it gave a great overview of the breadth of Archbishop Justin’s visit and a glimpse of the wide variety of people he met.
It features a personal interview with Stuart White, giving Archbishop Justin’s initial reflections on the first day of his three-day tour of Norfolk. With the strong theme of reconciliation running through the tour, Stuart asked for his particular thoughts on the centenary of the Armistice.
“We’ve now had almost 75 years of peace. My thought is let us remember the cost of war and absolutely be dedicated to reconciliation because it’s a fragile flower that you have to go on feeding and nurturing for it to grow more and more solid.”
